The Gudjar are a species of bipedal bovine originating from the world of Cradle in the Eltheen system. They are the dominant species in the United Herds of Eltheen nation.

Cradle was a lush and highly productive agricultural world farmed over ten thousand years ago by the Ye-Endi civilization. The planet was farmed for the most part by automatous marvels, with only a small crew of technicians overseeing operations in a facility on the surface.

During what Ye-Endi texts describe as 'an unfortunate event', an ecological disaster mutated much of the life on the planet. Many of the resulting horrors of this time did not survive, but some did, such as the Gudjar: a fusion of bovine and humanoid DNA who would rise to become the dominant species on the planet.

The Ye-Endi are long gone, remembered only by the few relics left behind on the worlds they once controlled like Cradle, but their legacy endures in species like the Gudjar.

History

A longer history of the species.

Society & Culture

Common societal and cultural characteristics if applicable.

Appearance

A typical Gudjar looks like a large bipedal bovine, something akin to a mythological minotaur. Their hides vary in color: white, grey, black, brown, along with multi-coloured patterns not unlike terran bovine. Both males and females have two horns atop their head. Males are more muscular and can reach a height of eight feet. Females are more plump and the tallest will reach around six feet in height.

Biological Notes

The Gudjar have two distinct sexes: male and female. They produce through sexual reproduction, with a male inseminating an ovulating female by inserting his penis into her vagina and ejaculating. The average gestation period lasts just under eleven months, whereupon the female will give birth to a single child.

The Gudjar live around 200 standard years. They are considered 'mature' around the age of 30 but are capable of reproducing around the age of 20.
