The Allonystor is a type of unarmed research vessel employed by the Collective Caretakers of Hathrador. It is used to conduct research, particularly in foreign systems.

What makes it unique is that there is no crew inside of it. Instead, the ship is part of a scientific cluster that remotely controls it, like an organic being controls their hand. This means there is no need for living quarters or anything else that only serves to accommodate a crew, so that it can pack more sensors and better thrusters than its size of 10 meters would suggest.

Most of the Allonystor's sensors are found in the armored central section of the ship, where they can't be damaged by flying space debris. When needed, they can be folded outwards, just like the landing gear on the ship's bottom. For additional protection, a basic shield generator is installed in its conical nose.
