All members must abide by Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

1. Community

Dawn of the Fallen is committed to providing a safe environment for players to explore their creativity through online gaming and roleplay. Members are expected to be respectful of each other at all times, to do their best to maintain a neutral space and avoid subjects that make participants uncomfortable. We do not allow political discussions. Hate speech, and other abusive or discriminatory language will not be tolerated. Treat everyone with respect, and do your part to keep our community positive and fun.

a. DON'T bully or harass

We do not tolerate bullying, discrimination or harassment of any kind within our community. Players are expected to never communicate or behave in any way that is predatory, threatening, intimidating, lewd, demeaning, derogatory, or any other way meant to cause discomfort or disrupt another member’s experience. Insults and verbal attacks outside of "in-character roleplay" is strictly prohibited.

b. DO be 17 or older

DotF is an 17+ community. There are no exceptions to this rule. To join the server, all members must attest to the fact that they are 17 years of age or older. If a member is suspected of being underage, Staff will request that they provide proof of age privately. If a member is found to be underage they will be banned.

c. DON'T troll

Trolling is any activity that is solely designed to target and deliberately interfere with, restrict, or ruin, the gaming experience of another player.

d. DON'T hate

DotF has a zero tolerance policy for hate speech and discrimination. Hate speech is defined as prejudice, hateful content, slurs, or statements that promote discrimination, hatred, violence or intolerance toward others.

e. DON'T start fires

Speaking poorly of members and staff, purposefully antagonizing other members to elicit response, or engaging in heated arguments in public forums will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with another member, submit a report or handle it privately rather than incite additional toxicity. As a member of the community, you are representing DotF even when out of character, and this sort of behavior will not be tolerated in public spaces.

f. DO be active

Members are expected to create a nation within 7 days of joining.

Each nation is expected to have at least 1 post every week.

If you are going to be away for a period of time that would affect your activity level, please post your absence in the #absences channel.

2. Content

All content shared on the DotF community server must abide by Discord's Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

a. DO use English

While DotF is welcomes members from all over the world who may speak many different languages, the server language is English. All public communication must be predominantly  in English.

b. DON'T advertise

Advertising is not permitted. This includes but is not limited to advertisements and promotions for goods and services, other communities or servers (unless a partnership has been established), and events not associated with DotF.

c. DON'T spam

Spamming is not permitted. This includes excessively communicating nonsense, the same phrase, or similar phrases in a short amount of time as well as creating threads for the sole purpose of causing agitation or disruption within the forums. In addition to this, please refrain from bumping threads or creating non-constructive posts which contain no thoughtful meaning (i.e -1 or +1 without further information or context).

d. DO suspend your disbelief

Be flexible and do not take things too seriously. This is an role playing server not a university science department; real-life logic and science may take the backseat to an enjoyable story.

e. DON'T post banned content

Content related to the following topics is not permitted in OOC discussion and may result in a permanent community ban. This includes all linked usernames, avatars, connected profile content, and any link that directly navigates to such content.

  • Nudity or Sexually-explicit content outside of designated channels.
  • Rape and Sexual Assault.
  • Child Abuse and Pedophilia.
  • Bestiality and Necrophilia.

  • Suicide and forms of self harm.
  • Symbols associated with hate groups.
  • Terrorism, genocide, or real-world tragedy.

3. Interpretation

These rules are not exhaustive but represent a clear image of our standards and expectations for the DotF community. Members are expected to understand the "spirit" of the rule at all times and not abuse syntax, ambiguity or apply false interpretation in order to get around this intent.

a. DO respect staff discretion

Staff has ultimate discretion over what they consider a breach of the server rules, unacceptable action, or general behavior that creates a negative playing experience, and/or is detrimental to the roleplaying environment we aim to create on DotF.

b. DON'T contact staff directly

Never direct message (DM) staff with issues or questions unless there is an active server emergency taking place or you have been invited to DM them. Staff are under no obligation to respond to any direct or private message related to DotF. If you have a question, concern or need assistance, please use the #questions or #staff-tickets channels.

4. Intellectual Property

DotF is a collaborative environment in which many people contribute to a larger body of work. While you have ownership of the thoughts and ideas that you contribute, in contributing this intellectual property you provide DotF with an irrevocable license to store, distribute and derive works from them on the DotF wiki and Discord server.

What this means is that your contributions to the wiki and Discord are yours, but once contributed to the wiki and/or the Discord server, we have the right to retain them, to allow others to read them, and our members can create other content based on them on the wiki and/or Discord server.

We will not delete or remove content unless it violates these rules or we are compelled to by law.
