Though a Confederation in name, they have a central government. Composed of the UCSC, where all the major decisions are made. There exists laws which apply to the whole nation, and they must be upheld. However, regions are allowed to have their own laws, as long as they stay within the general laws and the core principles of the UCS.
History
The creation of UCS
The UCS began when the Stilions signed a pact with the Black Nebula. The official version however establishes the creation of the UCS with the ‘First Unification Treaty’
The Stilions and the Nakalim are considered to be the founding nations of the UCS, as they both saw the opportunity in their partnerships. The Nakalim craved the level of protection the Stillions had from their mysterious Security Forces, and their tech. While the Stillions wanted the Nakalim economic skills to further fund their projects.
The UCS then incorporated other states into their fold, with the first two becoming the major forces within the UCS. The nations were mostly independent and had very different laws - they just protected each other and traded with each other. However one day all has changed.
Great Secession War
The Stilions have created an AI so advanced it became as sentient as any organic - and with time it demanded equal treatment and rights. This wave of protests inspired various slave revolts within the Nakalim Society. The UCS Congregation passed the law to grant every citizen equal rights regardless of status - however the Nakalim have rejected this.
The Alvori, the sentient robots, and other minor species joined Stilions in this fight. The Nakalim were overwhelmed and dealing with internal slave revolts. The war took many years, but eventually the Nakalim were defeated.
In the Aftermath the so-far loose Confederation became more Centrally governed and United as a proper nation. Many species were elevated to Majors Species levels, and the ways of the UCS changed forever. The Synthetica Sapiens became its own people, with fully granted rights, while the Nakalim were socially judged by everyone, and became bitter losers themselves.
Government
Political System - UCS Congregation
The UCSC is a space for all in the USC to discuss issues and take actions. Though most factions act pretty independently within the USC, the overall laws and decisions made by the UCSC apply to all citizens.
Various political parties represent different species and their political alignment. Though in reality they are controlled by major factions within the UCS.
To prevent the monopoly of major species - the political parties minor species are granted special seats and lower thresholds to get in. However they often are influenced or controlled by major factions within the UCS.
